Jade Bay exceeded our expectations with the building of our home. They had the arduous task of working with three generations of family members. Not only did Shawn Walsh with his experienced and established team of trades build a quality product on time, his son Cody Walsh was very cognizant of our budget as he guided us through the design and building process. Cody's previous building experience is evident and augments his passion for design as he worked directly with Shawn's construction team.
Cody's patience and personable professionalism guided us through the initial floor plan and design of our home, right to the final point of occupancy. He listened to our family's suggestions, lead us through our vision and ultimately incorporated a design plan that created a home we could never have obtained on our own. Cody's expertise and experience in design, connections with local suppliers, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills, exceeded our exceptions.
We were out of town for the majority of the build. However, we were very confident because of daily pictorial and budget updates that we found to be extremely helpful and reassuring. The passion and personal pride the Walsh family exhibited while building our home, was apparent from start to finish. Shawn's reputation for quality work is recognized and respected in the local building community. The personal pride he took with our project was evident on a daily basis. Both he and Cody were very hands on, putting in extra personal time on weekends to ensure the project ran smoothly and efficiently: Both were not satisfied until a task was done right.

When we decided to buy a lot and build our own home, we knew we needed assistance bringing our ideas to life within reason. We had visions of what our home would look like as well as its functionality for our lifestyle. Not being Architects and designers we relied on Google to find suitable house plans. Through our realtor we were introduced to Cody and after our first few chats/meet & greets, immediately felt like he had the ability to take all our ideas and bring them to life. He knew we wanted some edge, some quirks and some clean lines in our home and that we truly wanted to make this our home, not a "for now" house. Cody worked tirelessly to take our "interesting" ideas/requests and sketch them into a home. Cody took into account previous house and room dimensions that we had become accustomed to and adjusted them to fit the footprint of the lot. At the end of the design phase, Cody had given us all that we had requested, we did not feel we gave anything up in our new home. Once the design phase was done, we asked Cody if we could use his design skills as well as project management skills to see the project through to the end. We were incredibly lucky he agreed to take on this task as well. Throughout every phase of our home design and build, Cody exuded patience, practicality and provided solutions and assistance when we ran into challenges. He advocated when required and reigned us in when required. His knowledge and ability to take an idea and see it through to completion is amazing. Although we do not foresee another build in the near future, should we decide to build again, we hope Cody is available and up for the challenge. Anyone building will be so fortunate to be able to have Cody on their team.

When we decided to relocate to the Okanagan the arduous task of finding a new build home that was complete or nearly complete in an area we liked and that fell within our budget range began. We’ve built several homes and visited countless show homes in various parts of the country, so we know what we like and what defines a quality home. Frankly, many homes are not. Nothing felt right until we spotted a house for sale that ticked all the boxes. Timing in life is everything and unfortunately, we missed the home by days. Our real estate agent was able to arrange a viewing even though the home was sold. The viewing confirmed that we loved the style and floor plan. Our agent put us in touch with Cody and Shawn, the designer and builder, and the journey to our new home began. From helping us find a building lot (picture Shawn having us stand with him atop his truck to choose the lot with the best view), signing the contract on Cody's patio, working with Cody to "tweak" the plan, and the build itself were all a pleasure. Cody steered us away from bad choices, made great design and finish recommendations, and went out of his way to source fixtures that were unique but affordable. Shawn is a pro, funny as heck, and his desire to do things right was evident throughout the build. We love our home and we made the right choice choosing to work with Jade Bay. You will as well!
